Jim "One Shot" Turner, USMC, Retired, age 55, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016.
Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Douglas Turner and the late Linda Smith Charping. He proudly served his country and retired from the United States Marines Corps after 22 years, earning the rank of First Sergeant. Jim received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Phoenix. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Semper Fidelis, Jacksonville, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cristina White Turner; two daughters, Jamie K. Turner and Cristin L. Lewis; a brother, Brian K. Turner; a sister, Melissa D. Carey; grandchildren, Cayson Lewis, Corbin Ray, and Brayleigh Turner; a very special and beloved aunt, Marcia Smith and family; and his grandmother, Juanita Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne Turner; and his grandparents, Noah H. Smith and Margaret M. Smith.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
