Amy Elizabeth Steele, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC on September 11, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Frank Barron Steele, Jr. and the late Rebecca Johnston Steele. Amy graduated from Anderson College and the University of South Carolina with a Sociology Degree. She retired from the state of South Carolina after a career with Anderson County DSS as a social worker. Amy was a member of First Baptist Church of Boone, NC. She is survived by a brother, Bradley B. Steele, of Greenville, SC; a sister, Paula Robert, of Pendleton, SC; and nephews and nieces, Frank Robert, Bradley B. Steele, Jr. and Anna and Brantley Hodge. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. The family will receive friends following the service, at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016.
