Michael "Bert" Bertram Anderson, SC Michael "Bert" Bertram, age 59, of Anderson, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at his residence. Born in Gering, NE, he was the son of Betty Weimaster Pittman, of Alliance, NE and the late Riney Bertram. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, earning the rank of Chief E7. He worked at Culp Woven Velvets for many years. Bert was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving and going on mission trips. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Doris Rabon Bertram; a step-son, Ricky McLaughlin and his wife Sherry, of Westminster, SC; a daughter, Nikki Wolford and her husband Ryan, of Anderson, SC; a sister, Renee Smith, of Alliance, NE; an aunt, Maxine Fox, of Alliance, NE and five grandchildren, Seth McLaughlin. Megan McLaughlin, Madison Wolford, Alexis Wolford and Ryott Wolford. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Bertram. The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Tony Smith and Reverend Tom Turner officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, Mission Fund, 2503 Whitehall Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
