Adele Weilert Broeker, 89, of Anderson, SC passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at her home. Born August 14, 1929 in Orange, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Adeline Allison Weilert of Maplewood, NJ. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Walter Broeker; son, Scot K. Broeker and sister, Marilyn Jean Whitman (Bud). Adele graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ and Penn Hall College in Chambersburg, PA. She began her career as a medical technician and later taught third grade for several years in Cranford, NJ. She supported and was a major donor of the arts in Anderson, SC. Adele was an avid crafter and a member of Graceview Church. She is survived by her loving daughter, Carolyn Broeker Knight of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Heather L. Muto (Andy) of Charlotte, NC and Michael G. Broeker of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Knight, Anderson Muto and Colby Muto; step-grandchildren, Ashley K. Knight and Valen M. Knight and step great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Sharp, Maddison Holcombe and Kayleigh Knight; nephews, Dr. Skip Whitman (Diane), Steven Whitman (Donna) and Stewart Whitman (Carol); niece, Mary Ellen Kawatachi (Mitch) and her close and special friends, Elizabeth "Lib" Rowland and Jenny Lathrop. The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, December 21, 2018 at Remembrance II Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Bartlett officiating. Entombment will follow. The family will be at the residence, 2502 Poplar Lane, Anderson, SC 29621. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Graceview Church, 120 Centerville Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
