Martha Aileen Gentry Durham, age 79, of Pendleton, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at her home. Born September 1, 1943, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Gentry and Mary Etta Smith Gentry. She was married for 60 years to Harold Buddy Durham, Sr. until his death in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, William Chapman; and sister, Evelyn Swaney. Aileen was a long-time active member of East Clemson Christian Fellowship. She was a fantastic cook and loved to prepare food for family meals and church events. When Aileen cooked, there were never any leftovers! Her family will remember her as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her son, Harold B. "Bud" Durham, Jr. (Tracy) of Pendleton, SC; daughters, Judy Chapman (Eddie) of Central, SC, and Leann Durham of Pendleton, SC; sister, Johnnie Rie Sosebee; grandchildren, Toni Eunice, Ed Chapman, Justin Durham, Ana Durham, Trey Durham, Joe Durham, and Ruby Durham; and great grandchildren, Bryce Chapman, Michael Eunice, Lizzy Eunice, and Harper Durham. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Pendleton Center. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm at East Clemson Christian Fellowship with Rev. Chucky Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Clemson.
