ALAN P. FINNERAN January 20, 1954 - June 24, 2012 Alan Patrick Finneran, age 58, of 2312 Whitehall Avenue, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House, with his son, Brian at his side. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William A. and Erma DiPerzio Finneran. Mr. Finneran was a graduate of the University of Maine where he received a degree in Forestry. He continued his education to earn a degree in nursing. He was a registered nurse, and was employed at the time of his death at AnMed Home Healthcare. Prior to that, he was a nurse at Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL. Alan was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed other interests, including reading, cooking, camping and antique shopping. Mr. Finneran was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Those left to carry on his legacy include his son, Brian Finneran and his wife Gina of Derry, NH; a daughter Jennifer Finneran of Nashua, NH; a sister, Lois Kunz and her husband Daniel of Harleysville, PA and two beautiful grandchildren, Camryn and Joseph Finneran of Derry, NH. Also surviving are a special niece and nephew Rachel and Anthony Kunz. A funeral mass celebrating the life of Mr. Alan P. Finneran will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11 AM, with Father Paul Williams officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM, with a Prayer Service scheduled for 6 PM.
