Alan Smith, age 58, of Iva, SC, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, in Iva, SC at the Smith family farm.

Born April 9, 1967 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late James Leland Smith and Carole Evans Smith.

Alan was a devoted husband to his wife, Rhonda, of thirty-one years. He was a loving husband, father, and "Pop." He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed football of any kind, especially watching his Clemson and Crescent Tigers. He was a devoted Christian and served as the music leader and enjoyed using his voice to glorify the Lord at Rocky River Baptist Church for several years. His favorite hymn was "Victory In Jesus" and he sang it often. Being outdoors, especially on the farm, at the creek, and riding the buggy with Leland was how he loved to spend his time. Alan was a loving and kind man who was adored by so many. His light will be missed deeply by all those who were honored to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Smith; daughters, Jordan McCullough (Dylan) and Kinley Smith; sisters, Teresa Gable (Sammy), Regina Phillips (David), and Andrea Williamson (Tim); grandchildren, Leland Wayne McCullough and Scottie Blair McCullough and a special friend, Sandra "Maw Maw" Davis.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Iva. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of Iva with Rev. Brian Gray, Rev. Jerry Gray and Pastor Mike McMinn officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky River Baptist Church Cemetery.
