Albert Daniel "Dan" Chamblee, Jr., age 88, of Anderson, SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.

Born December 25, 1934, in Anderson County, SC, he was a son of the late, Albert Daniel Chamblee and Helen McGee Chamblee. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Neil and Frank Chamblee.

Dan served his country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the former Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He had worked as a chemical technician and loved farming.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Ann Munn Chamblee; daughter, Celia Anne Duncan (Alan) of Hartwell, GA; sons, Albert Daniel Chamblee, III (Terri), John DeWitt Chamblee (Peggy) and Andrew Clark Chamblee all of Anderson, SC and Robert Clifton Chamblee (Laura) of Hartsville, SC; sister, Patti V. Greenway (Joe) of Anderson, SC; brothers, Jones McGee Chamblee of Anderson, SC and Ned Elwood Chamblee of Starr, SC; ten grandchildren, Daniel Chamblee, Tara Chamblee, Jillian Chamblee, Kacie Chamblee, Kristin Ryder, Jennifer DuVall, Nick Chamblee, Emily Knutson, Lauren Duncan and Anna Duncan; also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Kinard officiating.
