He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the Detroit Engineering Machining Company. Mr. Erdelyi was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Allen Park, MI.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Katherine Ferenzi Erdelyi; and son, Alexander George Erdelyi. Survivors include his children: Dale Robert Erdelyi and wife, Patricia Smith Erdelyi of Acworth, GA, Ilona Gayle Young of Carlton, MI, and Elena-Marie Richard and husband, Billy Richard of Anderson, SC; daughter-in-law, Patricia Valade Erdelyi of Taylor, MI; grandchildren: Joseph Paul Erdelyi, Dayle Andrea Kohl, Kris Erdelyi, Aaron Erdelyi, Brenda Erdelyi, Ken Brockmiller, Alex Young, Phillip Pragert, Tracy Hurd, and Shannon Micklatcher; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and one brother, Louis Berta of Bay City, MI.A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Jack Couch.
