JACK JORDANDecember 28, 1925 - October 28, 2008IVA, SCMr. Alfred Gerald 'Jack' Jordan, Sr., age 82, husband of Claudine Parnell Jordan of 100 Sexton Gin Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Iva, SC on December 28, 1925, Mr. Jordan was a son of the late John James Jordan, Sr., and Essie Barker Jordan. He served four years in the United States Navy during World War II and in action in South Pacific Theater on the USS Crawley DE303. He was a recipient of the Asiatic Pac Medals including the Victory Medal. Mr. Jordan retired after 42 years of service at Jackson Mills. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva and was a former member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Survivors include his wife, Claudine Parnell Jordan of the home; sons, Alfred Gerald Jordan Jr., and his wife, Deborah Campbell Jordan of Iva and John Michael Jordan and his wife, Karen Timmerman Jordan of Greenwood; four grandchildren: Michael Dylan Jordan and his wife, Sarah Sherbo Jordan, Mary Katherine Jordan, Christy Jordan Williams and her husband, Shawn Patrick Williams and Michael Jay Jordan; and three great-grandchildren: Sethe Patrick Williams, Isabella Jordan Williams and Ada Grace Williams.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers: Guy, Roy, Troy, Harvey, Clyde, Sam and Bill Jordan; and sisters, Mary Patterson, Sara Martin, Margaret Hamilton and Hilda Chandler.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 4:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Iva conducted by the Reverend Jerry Gray and the Reverend Curtis Bundy. Interment will follow in the Iva City Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the church from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Iva, P.O. Box 475, Iva, SC 29655 or Iva Rescue Squad, P.O.
