Alice Virginia Wiles Burdette, age 82, of Iva, SC, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at home.

Born November 12, 1941, in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Victor Wiles and Minnie Elgin Wiles. She was also preceded in death by 8 siblings.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly and they loved her. She was a fantastic listener, enjoyed sewing for family and friends, and traveling to the mountains and the beach with her husband Orion. She was committed to serving her church, First Baptist Church of Iva, where she was a member. Alice had also participated in numerous mission trips abroad with her husband, sharing her love of the Gospel. Additionally, Alice served her community through Meals on Wheels and the REVIVA Museum and Visitor Center.

She is survived by her husband, Orion V. Burdette; daughter, Alice Elaine Burdette; sons, Stanley Vinson Burdette (Carla) and Russell Ernest Burdette (Sheila); 4 siblings; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 3:00-5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Iva with Rev. Jerry Gray and Rev. Mike Wiles officiating. Burial will follow at Iva City Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
