Alice Williams Tilson, age 87, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Charleston, SC, April 28, 1931, Alice was the only child to the late Gerald C. Williams and the late Martina McEvoy Williams. She was a graduate of Meminger High School in Charleston, Class of 1949. She was the former director of Kindergarten of Northside Christian School and was very active in the Jail Ministry where she was known as "Sister Alice." She was also a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tom Tilson (Karen), Cynthia Tilson Parker (Stacey) and Gerald Tilson (Deborah); grandchildren, Gerald Westly Tilson, Jr., Arthur Thomas Tilson, IV, Rebekah Lynn Tilson, William Patrick Tilson and Rebekah Tilson Klempin; and 3 great grandchildren, Aria, Charlie and George Tilson. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Arthur Thomas Tilson, Jr. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dale Bradley officiating.
