Dixon, age 82, of 352 Joe Branch Road, Whittier, NC, wife of the late Jim Henry Dixon, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009.Born in Anderson, SC on January 9, 1927, Mrs. Dixon was the oldest daughter of the late James Cole Dale Hooper and Minnie Lee Pierce Hooper. She worked at Anderson Mill prior to moving to Florida, where she retired from Times Publishing. She spent many of her retirement years working on the family genealogy. She was a Baptist.She was married to the late Jim Henry Dixon and was mother to Charles Rodger Dixon and Dale Lee Cate. In addition to her children, she is survived by her two grandchildren, Jesse Dee Combs, Jr. and Christina Marie Roberts; seven great grandchildren; her sisters Gaynell Kay and Adele Medlin; and her brothers, Alfred Hooper, David Hooper, and Ezekiel Hooper.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dixon was predeceased by two brothers, James Hooper and Theron Hooper.A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:30 AM at New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, SC with Dr. Jack Couch officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.The family will be at their respective homes.THE McDOUGALD FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
