FERGUSON July 11, 1930 - November 12, 2008STARR, SCMr. Allen Joe Ferguson, age 78, of Starr, SC, husband of the late Louise Fields Ferguson, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Iva, SC on July 11, 1930, Mr. Ferguson was a 1949 graduate of Iva High School and was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War. He retired after 33 years of service from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was a life-member of the Herman Masonic Lodge #116 and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.Survivors include his son, Melvin R. Ferguson and wife, Amanda Ferguson of Belton; daughters, Janice Isbell and husband, Ricky Isbell and Edith Adams and husband, Tony Adams, all of Iva; brothers, Douglas Ferguson of Greenwood and Dwight Ferguson of Iva; sister, Daphne Crawford of Anderson; six grandchildren, Justin and Nicole Isbell, Brittany and Cody Adams and Holly and Seth Ferguson and one great-granddaughter, Reagan Green.He was predeceased by a brother, Kirby Ferguson. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Interment will follow in South Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of his daughter, Janice Isbell, 343 Drake Circle, Iva, SC.Flowers are optional.
