Obituary

Allie King Gainesville, GA Allie Manning King, age 94, formerly of Anderson, SC passed away on July 28, 2016. Born in Starr, SC, on January 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter Manning and the late Pearle Vaughan Manning. As a child, she attended and was baptized at Ruhamah Methodist Church in Starr where her descendants established the church in 1822 It was her great-grandfather as well as her grandfather and beloved father who were leaders in the church for many years. In 1955 she became a member of First Presbyterian Church. She confirmed her acceptance of Jesus as her Lord and Savior on August 5, 1984 at the age of 62. She was a former member of the Cateechee Chapter of the D.A.R. Allie lived most of her adult life in Anderson, SC, moving to Georgia after the death of her husband. She lived her life selflessly loving and serving her family which in her later years expanded to include her families at Dogwood Forest Assisted Living and Gold City Convalescent Home. She is survived by her daughter, Tricia King White and her husband Will; three grandchildren, Susan White Moore and husband Chris, Whitney White King and husband Miles and Caroline White; five great-grandchildren, Levi, Lila Kate, and Lewis Moore and Charlie & Adeline King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Tommie A. King; her son, Michael; four brothers and three sisters. The Graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Dave Channell officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation following the service.
