Allison Alewine Brown, age 62, of Iva, SC, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Prisma Health Hillcrest Hospital in Simpsonville, SC after a brief illness.

Born July 10, 1961, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wallace O. Alewine and the late Linda Milford Alewine-Atkinson.

Allison was a graduate of Crescent High School and Clemson University. She worked as an administrative assistant for Peoples Bank for many years before transitioning to her true passion, education. She taught at Crescent High School, Starr-Iva Middle School and retired from Calhoun Falls Charter School. She enjoyed teaching and molding young people's lives.

She loved her family above all and will be missed.

She is survived by her husband David M. Brown, Jr.; daughter, Linda Abigail "Abby" Crawford (Brendan); her pride and joy, granddaughter, Allison Jennings Crawford; and sister, Melanie Alewine.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm at Bethel United Methodist Church, Iva, SC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Allison will be laid to rest at Iva City Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
