Alton Burdette, age 91, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born October 7, 1931, in LaFrance, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Clay and Louise Burdette. He was also preceded in death by his son, Marty Alton Burdette; 2 brothers and 1 sister. Alton was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1949 until 1953. He was retired from BASF. He loved country music and spending time in the outdoors, especially at the beach. He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Burdette Phillips (Jerry) and Dana Burdette Burdette (Shane); and grandson, Zachary Burdette. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 12:00-1:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Ronnie James officiating. The committal service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 10:00 am at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with military honors presented by Campbell Patriots.
