MORRIS LEDBETTER December 17, 1925 - May 23, 2006 STARR, SCMr. Alvin Morris Ledbetter, age 80, husband of Susie Collier Ledbetter of 110 Webster Street, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Hart Care Center in Hartwell, GA.Born in Carnesville, GA on December 17, 1925, Mr. Ledbetter was the son of the late Floyd Gaines Ledbetter and Ruby Carson Ledbetter. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas with 33 years of service. He served on the USS Hornet in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Mason and a member of Unity Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Susie Collier Ledbetter of the home; a son, Dale Ledbetter of Starr; daughters, Patricia McAlister and Brenda Wentzky, both of Starr; sisters, Margaret Sewell and Pat Burts, both of Anderson, Lee Blanchard of Alpharetta, GA and Judy Salter of Thomaston, GA; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 1:00 pm at South Lawn Memorial Gardens officiated by the Reverend Lloyd Robison and military honors conducted by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
