Alvin Bernard "Butch" Snyder, age 72, of Anderson, SC, formerly of Dallastown, PA, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at North Pointe Assisted Living.
Born April 6, 1949, in York. PA, he was the son of the late Alvin Beck Snyder and Mabel Marie Albright Snyder.
Butch was a faithful employee of the Harley Davison York Plant for 30 plus years. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Anderson, SC, in 2009. Having grown up on a dairy farm, he enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, archery, fishing, and a good game of horseshoes. Butch volunteered for several years at AnMed Health Medical Center and enjoyed making new friends out of the strangers he met. In July 2013, he was baptized and became a faithful member of North Anderson Baptist Church. Butch was a proud family man and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 54 years, Evelyn Conley Snyder; son, Edward Snyder (Michelle) of Sumter, SC; daughter, Christina Keech (Christopher) of Felton, PA; brothers, James Snyder and Fred Snyder; sisters, Darlene Dunham, Jennie Heiner, Ida Fleming, and Debra Pressel; grandchildren, Ashley Sumner (Joshua), Michael Snyder (Melissa), Amber Watt (Philip), and Kaylee Keech; and great grandchildren, Emma, Taylor, Lilly, and Luke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Snyder.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
