AMALEE P. KING February 7, 1923 - September 24, 2012 Ruby Amalee Pruitt King, age 89, of 425 Wright School Road, Belton, joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, September 24, 2012. Mrs. King passed away at her residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Reed Pruitt and the late Mary Jane McCurry Pruitt. For 63 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Loran King until his death in 2004. Mrs. King was a homemaker who loved to cook, and who was devoted to her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Belton and was faithful in her attendance as long as her health permitted. Amalee was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Left to carry on Mrs. King's legacy is a daughter, Laverne K. Kelly and her husband, Herbert, of the residence; 2 grandchildren, Jeff Kelly and wife, Karin of Honea Path, and Lori Shoolbred of Belton; 4 great-grandchildren, Gracyn and McKinlee Kelly, and Jill and Reed Shoolbred. Along with her daughter Laverne and son-in-law Herbert, Mrs. King was lovingly and faithfully cared for by caregivers Tammy Argo, Katie Autry, Henrietta Timms and Sybil Bratcher. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Amalee P. King will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 4 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church, Belton, with Rev. Andy Hall and Rev. Carroll Plemmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
