Amelia Gertrude Smith Iva, SC Amelia Gertrude Smith, age 91, of Iva, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2014 at her residence. Born in Bloomingdale, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Ackerman and the late Gertrude Dathe. She was a line operator at West Pharmaceutical Company in Wayne, NJ for more than 35 years. She was a member of the Methodist women and the Quilters Club. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, of Iva, SC. She is survived by her children, Dennis Gould and his wife Linda, of Haskell, NJ, Harold Vincent Gould, of Anderson, Beverly Ann Novakoski and her husband Joe, of Spring Hill, FL, Lorraine Harrison of Due West, SC, and Sharon Lee Evans, of Charlie, of Iva, SC; a brother, Bobby Ackerman; a sister, Naomi Murray, of Iverness, FL; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Vincent Gould, and her second husband, William Joseph Smith; a sister, Marian Ackerman; and a brother, Ernest Ackerman. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Joe Durham officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1007 E.
