AMIE YOUNG August 28, 1921 - May 4, 2007 IVA, SCMrs. Amie Elizabeth Latham Young, age 85, of 208 Park Drive, Iva, SC, wife of the late Ira Burnace 'I.B.' Young, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Iva, SC on August 28, 1921, Mrs. Young was a daughter of the late Carl Erskine Latham and Bertha Brown Latham. She was retired after 36 years of service from Jackson Mills. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva and was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. Survivors include two daughters, Sara Simpson and Jean Drawdy and her husband, G W., all of Iva, SC; grandchildren, Cindy Carey Hopkins and her husband, Ronnie, Tommy Simpson and his wife, Kelly, all of Anderson, SC, Amanda Carey Daugherty and her husband, Jim of Pawleys Island, SC and Tina Simpson Stovall and her husband, Thomas of Gilbertsville, PA; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Simpson, Ashley Lytton, Baylee and Kennedy Stovall; sister, Winton Latham Taylor of Elberton, GA; two nieces, Wynette Neal and her husband, Patrick of Toccoa, GA; Dee Smith and her husband, Larry of Elberton, GA; great-niece and nephew, Emma Kate Smith and Jack Smith. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Faith Lytton and son-in-law, Douglas Simpson. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverends Jerry Gray and Michael Osborne officiating.
