Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.Born in Clinton, SC on February 21, 1932, Mr. Bowen was a son of the late Berry Mel Bowen and Winnie Shumake Bowen. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas with over 38 years of service and after his retirement, he started the B & G Contracting along with his son. Mr. Bowen was an avid fisherman and was a member of Hunt Street Full Gospel Church.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Randy Bowen and his wife Linda of Westminster; daughter, Ellen Booth and her husband, Jim; daughter, Melinda Cade and her husband, Tim; sisters, Mildred Smith, Lucille Duckett and JoAnn Marett; five grandchildren, Stacy Norris, Michael Gaines, Deven Gaines, Hayley Black, Justin Cade; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Norris, Kayla Norris, Kylie Gaines and Taylor Gaines, all of Anderson.He was predeceased by brothers, Ezra and Ernest Bowen and sister, Levine Whitworth.A Graveside Service with Military Honors, will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Dale Duckett. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service. Flowers are optional.
