Amos Michael Sutherland, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center. He will celebrate his 80th birthday in Heaven with Jesus.

Born June 2, 1946, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Amos and Lillian Sutherland. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Tommie Poole; and brothers, Steve Sutherland and Herbert Sutherland.

Michael was retired from Orian Rugs and attended West Anderson Church of God. He loved baseball and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed living a simple life with his family whom he loved so much. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ann Hooks Sutherland; daughters, Sheila Roach (Billy) and Michelle Vickery (Robbie); brothers, Bernie Sutherland and Bobby Sutherland (Helen); grandchildren, Lindsey Evans (Anthony), Leslie Roach, Trake Vickery (Lauren), Dallas Vickery (Madison), and Keyran Deyhle; and great grandson, Titus Vickery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
