GERALD CARVER November 7, 1934 - October 23, 2007WESTMINSTER, SCMr. Ampsey Gerald Carver, age 72, husband of Paula Garrett Carver of 604 Little Choestoea Road, Westminster, SC, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his residence.Born in Sidell, Illinois on November 7, 1934, Mr. Carver was a son of John Ampsey Carver and Elsie Coffman Carver. He was a retired painting contractor and a long time resident of Covington, GA. He was a member of the Tabernacle of the Lord where he served as Trustee and song leader.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Paula Garrett Carver of the home; sons, Michael Carver and his wife, Pamela of Buford, GA, Allan Carver and his wife, Lisa Renee of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; brother, Leonard Carver of Hartwell, GA; sisters, Carol C. Hudson of Conyers, GA and Lucille C. Proffer of Athens, GA; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Annette Cash and two sisters, Laura Lee and Crescentia Carver.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Luke Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Westminster, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 26, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
