Ann Iorio Klodowski, age 93, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Philip Iorio and the late Catherine Rullo Iorio. Ann was a devoted wife and loving mother and after her children grew up and moved away, she began her banking career retiring as a head teller. Ann enjoyed dancing and playing a game of cards. She was a fan of watching golf and baseball, especially the New York Yankees. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Her family was her life, being survived by her children, John Klodowski and his wife Janet, of Clemson, SC and Catherine Wurtz and her husband Denis, of Long Island, NY; five loving grandchildren, John Klodowski, Jr. (Kim), of TX, JoAnn Armour (Guy), of NJ , Michael Wurtz (Jennifer), of NC, Matthew Wurtz (Alyssa), of AR and Gregory Wurtz , of NY; and five great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as, "Great-Mama", Rhiannon, Alessandra, Alexa, Cameron, and Jaxson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 60 years, Jack Klodowski; and her siblings, Gerry Iorio, Grace Barker and Rita Gladd. The Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Steve Kluge, OFM officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The prayer vigil will be held at The McDougald Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015, with visitation following until 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus at Anderson Place, especially "her girls" at the Summer House for the love and care shown to Mrs. Klodowski during her time with them.
