Matilda Ann Childs Snead, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.

Born April 27, 1944, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Jared Earl Childs and Mary Whitten Childs. She was married for 34 years to James Ernest "Jimmy" Snead until his death in 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth R. Childs.

Ann was a graduate of Girls High Class of 1962 and was retired from AFCO Plant. She enjoyed shopping and loved to travel, especially cruising. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.

She is survived by her sons, Russell Kelly (Wendy) of Anderson and Rev. Robert Kelly of Starr; brother, Stanley E. Childs of Anderson; grandsons, Brandon Kelly (Brandi) and Dylon Kelly (Alecia) both of Anderson; and great grandsons, Steel Kelly and Storm Kelly.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Temple with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm.
