Sylvia Ann Elrod Tinsley, 80, loving wife of the late James Alton Tinsley, Sr., passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Pruitt Health Ridgeway. Born in Anderson, SC, on October 11, 1938, Ann was the daughter of the late Albert Wendell Elrod and Gertrude Myers Kay Elrod. She worked as a realtor in real estate and was an avid artist. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and was a very special person loved by all who will truly be missed. Ann is survived by her son, Jim Tinsley of Anderson; daughter, Mitzi Ann Gasque (Brantley) of Anderson; brothers, Terry Elrod, Steve Allen Kay (Jane) of Belton, and David Lee Kay (Cathey) of Pelzer; sisters, Janice Lowe (Ronnie) and Sandra Renee Sharer, both of Anderson; four grandchildren, Kelly Maria Tinsley, Summer LeeAnn Coleman (Justin), Taylor Ansley Beard (Blaise), and Brittany Erin Tinsley; step-great-grandson, Kevin Gasque (Kim); great-grandchildren, Corbin Coleman, Madison Gasque, Devon Tinsley, Ansley, Seth, and Emily Natchett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lynn Tinsley; and a grandson, James Alton Tinsley, III. The family will receive friends at St. John's United Methodist Church on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Herb Franklin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 515 S.
