ANN YATES HARTWELL, GA Annie Ruth Yates, affectionately known as "Memaw" formerly of Pendleton, SC, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center in Lavonia, GA. Born in Anderson, SC she was the daughter of the late George Thomas Ashworth and the late Amanda Lynn Sanders Ashworth. She worked in textiles for many years. She enjoyed many things during her life, among them were dancing, reading her Bible but most of all her devoted family. She was also an avid dog lover. Ann was of the Church of God Faith. She is survived by her children, Shirley Yates Torlina and her husband Bob, of Waterloo, SC Ronnie Yates and his wife Lydia, of Anderson, SC Wayne Yates and his wife Pamela Greene Yates, of Graniteville, SC Mike Yates and his wife Pam Shiflet Yates, of Anderson, SC and Melinda Yates Fricks, of Belton, SC; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Ridley Smith and her husband Kemp, Dawn Ridley, John Thorne and his wife Kellie, Jamie Yates and his wife Carol, Rowdy Yates and his wife Rebecca, Matt Yates and his wife Tonya, and Chris Yates and his wife Kristy; 14 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Hope, Keri, Kaleigh, Jonathan, Emily, Nadia, Julia, James Mason, Colton, Sarah, Chesney, and Jaxton; and 1 great-great granddaughter, Raegan; a brother, Bobby Ashworth; and a sister, Betty Ashworth Dutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Yates; 4 brothers, Otis, Clyde, Johnny, and Joe Ashworth; and 3 sisters, Myrtice Massey, Jessie McLane and Frances Smith. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Beryl Rosenberger officiating. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery.
