Anne Johnston Doyle, age 85, of 208 Moultrie Square, entered the Church Triumphant upon her death at Rainey Hospice House on Monday, February 12, 2018. Born in Anderson on September 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William Calhoun Johnston and the late Sara Louise Power Johnston. For sixty-two years, Anne was the loving and devoted wife of the late Cary Calhoun Doyle, Sr. until his death in 2012. Mrs. Doyle was a true "Southern Belle." She was a graduate of Anderson Girls' High School, Class of 1950. She was a former member of the Electric City Garden Club, Hudson Berry Chapter of D.A.R., the Anderson Junior Assembly. Anne was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Bible Study Classes, was a member of the Women of the Church, and worked with the Youth of the Church. She mentored many people to the Lord. Mrs. Doyle was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Cary C. Doyle Jr. of Anderson; two daughters Christi D. Blair of Pendleton, and Cathi D. Laughridge and her husband, Jimmy, of Anderson; a sister, Peggy Johnston Hendrix and her husband Bill of Anderson; a sister-in-law Laura Doyle Carpenter of Anderson; five grandchildren, Dustin Blair and wife, Jessica, Jamie Laughridge and wife, Katie, Murphy L. McCants and husband, Trey, Cary A. Doyle, and Jordan Doyle; also surviving are four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Doyle leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Cary, Mrs. Doyle was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Johnston Bobo; and an infant brother, Andrew Johnston who died at birth. The family would like to thank the many caregivers of Upstate Healthcare Services for the loving attention given to Mrs. Doyle during her declining health. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Mrs. Doyle will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, with the Reverend Debbie Foster officiating.
