ANNE G. GILMORE September 3, 1915 - September 27, 2012 Anne G. Gilmore, age 97, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her home. Born in Cedartown, GA, she was a daughter of the late James F and Almedia Gober. For many years, being service oriented, she was a volunteer at Calhoun Elementary School, the Association for Retarded Citizens, and the residential program at Whitten Center. She attended Midway Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth A Gilmore of Anderson and Wayne A (Mami) Gilmore of Iwakuni, Japan; daughters Elaine Gilmore of Anderson, Carol (Sam) Wentzky of Anderson, Linda (Larry) Stancil of Bozeman, MT and Kathy Gilmore of Clinton; Honarary daughter, Carnella Stewart of McDonough, GA; five grandchildren; Lori Flowers, Amy Wojtkiw, Christopher Wentzky, Rob Stancil, and Robin Wood; and ten great-grandchildren; Thomas Frye, Mallie Wentzky, Blaine Wentzky, Ethan Wood, Charlie Wood, Halton Stancil, Gavin Stancil, Rebecca Smith, Mikaela Smith and Brianna Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ethan Gilmore; a grandson; Brian Stancil; and 13 brothers and sisters. The Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Chaplain Jeff Sager officiating. The family will be at the home of Elaine Gilmore, 113 Green Chase East, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
