Anne Lee Roach Turpen, 97, loving wife of the late David "Turp" Turpen, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at National Healthcare of Anderson. Born in Oconee County, SC, on July 8, 1920, Anne was the daughter of the late Charlie Roach and Leatha McCall Roach. Anne owned and operated Nanny's Nursery for over 40 years. She was a member of High Praises Church of God. Anne is survived by her daughters, Barbara Higgins of Williamston, SC, and Dixie McClain (Bud) of Anderson, SC; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband David "Turp", Anne was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Turpen; daughter, Betty Roberts; siblings, Louie Roach, Clyde Roach, Lawrence Roach, Ethel Smith, and Roy Roach; and half-sister Pauline Frye. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. following visitation on Wednesday in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Sustar, Dr. Harold Morse, and Rev. Tom Turner officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence, 233 Philwood Dr., Williamston, SC 29697.
