ANTOINETTE CUMMINGS Antoinette Marie Cummings, age 48, of 427 Carousel Road, Gray Court, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born on March 24, 1967, she was the daughter of Doris Bittle Cummings of Greenville. Ms. Cummings was awarded a BS Degree in Law Enforcement from the University of South Carolina where she was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. For many years she served as a Corrections Officer with the South Carolina Department of Corrections where she obtained the rank of Captain. One of her several assignments was at the Tyger River Correctional Institution. She was also employed as a manager at Applebee's Restaurant for 21 years. Ms. Cummings is survived by her devoted wife, Jacqueline Kuzio Cummings of the residence; a step-son, Michael Kuzio of York, SC; a step-daughter, Victoria Hawkins and husband, Kevin; a step grandson, Bentley Hawkins; a mother-in-law, Faye Slater; sisters-in-law, Deborah Todd and Melissa Grove, all of Kingsport, TN; two aunts, Brenda Bittle Kennedy of Charlotte, and Sandra McQueen and husband, James, of Columbia; three uncles, Ralph Bittle and his wife, Teresa of Charlotte, Burnice Bittle and his wife, Margie, of Charlotte, and Kenneth W. Bittle and his wife Camalah, of Cheraw, SC; also surviving are a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Antoinette Cummings will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of The Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC, with Rev. Johnna Camp officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Mackey Mortuary on Monday, April 6, 2015, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Cremation will follow. The McDougald Funeral Home of Anderson, SC, is assisting the family with arrangements.
