A.R. KIBLER
Arthur Robert "B.O.B." Kibler, age 74, of 205 Harrington Drive, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Born in Newberry, SC, on February 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Johnny C. Kibler and the late Varie Gibson Kibler. After graduation from high school, B.O.B. attended Greenville Tech for 2 years. Mr. Kibler served in the Seabees of the U.S. Navy. He was a control electrician supervisor with Duke Power, a position from which he retired after 20 years of employment. He was a member of the Masons and the Electric City Shag Club.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Stacey Kibler Barrett and her husband, Danny, and Tia Kibler Batson, all of Simpsonville, SC; 2 brothers Clarence Kibler and Del Kibler and his wife, Linda, all of Newberry, SC; 3 grandchildren, Toby and Nicholas Barrett, and Haley Batson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Presley Barrett. The family would especially like to thank Joe Shipman, who was a very close friend of their father. Mr. Kibler and Mr. Shipman checked on each other several times daily to make sure the other was alright.
In addition to his parents, B.O.B. was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Kitty Millsaps and Mary Patterson.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mr. Kibler will be held on Sunday, September, 14, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Gray officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14, 2014, from 1:30 pm until 3 pm. Mr. Kibler's cremated remains will be placed in a columbarium at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery, at a later time.
