Archie Cox Anderson, SC Robert Archie Cox, age 99, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Eugene and Christine Cox. He was a general manager at Abney Mills and a member of Concord Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Donna McMichael and her husband Terry, of Madison, GA and Joyce Lowe and her husband Larry, of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, Trey McMichael and his wife Jody and Lisa Richter and her husband Fritz; five great-grandchildren, Ben McMichael, Ryan McMichael, Kathryn Richter, Allison Richter, and Madison Hardy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Cox; a granddaughter, Renee Hardy; three brothers, Grover, Paul and Roy Cox; and a sister, Ruth Wells. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Francis Crowder officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, prior to the service, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
