ARNOLD KELLEY October 4, 1929 - November 8, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Arnold Cornelius Kelley, age 83, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late John Thomas Kelley and the late Brodie Ginn Kelley. He was a graduate of Anderson Boys High School. Arnold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the owner and operator of Kelley Roofing. He helped charter the Broadway Fire Department in 1964, where he served as Fire Chief for over 16 years. He was a South Carolina State Constable for over 30 years and worked at The Anderson County Sheriff's Department for over 25 years. Arnold served on the Board of Directors for the Broadway Water Commission. He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church for over 52 years where he was a Deacon and was Sunday School Secretary and served on the Building and Grounds Committee. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Murphy Kelley, of the home; two sons, Barry Arnold Kelley and his wife Freda of Anderson, and Dale Alan Kelley and his wife Judi of Flower Mound, TX; a daughter, Nancy Kelley Smith and her husband Delano; brothers, Norman Kelley of Anderson and Lyndon Kelley of Atlanta; a sister, Wilma Evans of Anderson; and six grandchildren, Emily Flores and her husband Nathan, Matthew Kelley and his wife Meg, Erin Kelley, Brent Kelley, Courtney Smith and Clay Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and W.T. Kelley and two sisters, Estelle Kelley and Phyllis Osborne. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Eureka Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Fousek officiating. Mr. Kelley will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Broadway Fire Department, the Anderson County Sherriff's Department, The Men's Bible Class and the Deacons of Eureka Baptist Church. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
