November 1, 1918 - August 11, 2005STARR, SCMr. Arthur 'Jot' Brown, Sr., age 86 of 1721 Flat Rock Road, Starr, SC, died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Leoma, TN on November 1, 1918, Mr. Brown was the middle son of the late Bartley Brown and Lorinda Styles Brown. He was retired from Starr Mills as plant manager. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was of the Baptist Faith.Survivors include two sons, Arthur B. Brown, Jr., of Anderson, SC and Benny Brown of Canton, GA; a brother-in-law, Harold Pierce of Marietta, SC; sisters-in-law, Nellie Cain and Ruby Pierce, both of Slater, SC; two grandsons, Cass and Chris Brown, both of Anderson, SC and four great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Annie Pierce Brown and two brothers, Leo Brown and Warren Brown.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Ed Hunsinger and Eddie Bledsoe. Interment will follow in Flat Rock Cemetery.
