OBITUARYFLAGARTHUR 'ART' ERVINApril 7, 1927 - May 23, 2007ANDERSON, SCArthur Wesley Ervin, age 80, husband of Karen Harris Ervin of 200 Greenmeadow Circle, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Hospice House.Born in Livingston, NJ, Mr. Ervin was a son of the late Willard Ervin and Ruth Robertson Ervin. Mr. Ervin moved to Anderson in 1984 and worked as a truck driver for Singer Co. After retirement he worked for Wal-Mart on Liberty Highway for several years. He was a United States Navy veteran in WWII working as an armed guard with the Merchant Marines and served in the Atlantic Theatre during Germany's surrender and in the Pacific Theatre during Japan's Surrender. Mr. Ervin was a 1944 graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield NJ. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Karen Harris Ervin of the home; sons, Richard Ervin of Quakertown, PA, Jeffrey Ervin of Fort Myers, FL, Michael Ervin of Forked River NJ, and Charles Ervin of Keyport, NJ; daughters, Donna Carmany of Townville, SC, Susan Stout of Fountain Inn, SC, and Allyson Tidwell of Douglasville, GA; stepdaughters, Charlotte Jones of Commerce GA and Georgianna Harbin of Monahans TX; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 11:00am in the Chapel at The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Glenn Taylor.
