Arthur O. Murphy, Jr. Arthur O. Murphy, Jr., 81, of 405 Hickory Road, Anderson, SC died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his residence. Born on July 13, 1933, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur Otho and Hilda Cape Murphy. He was retired from Owens-Corning after many years of service and served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Anderson, SC and was married to his dear wife Georgia Beecham Murphy who died in 2003. Surviving are one son: Ray Murphy of Anderson; one brother: Ned Murphy and his wife Linda of Anderson; one sister: Allie Napier and husband David of Anderson; two grandchildren: Joshua Murphy and Danny Erwin and his wife Carla; and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his spouse Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by a son: Roger Dale Murphy; a daughter: Cynthia Erwin; and a granddaughter: Casey Erwin. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July, 19, 2014 at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson with the Rev. Allen Paris officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
