AUBREY GENE CHRISTIAN June 25, 1937 - October 24, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Aubrey Gene Christian, age 69, husband of Rebecca Smith Christian of 107 Cody Court, Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Seneca, SC on June 25, 1937, Mr. Christian was a son of the late William Floyd Christian and Jessie Ginn Christian. He was retired from BASF as a truck drive and was a member of the American Trucking Association. Awards he received included the 1976 Ryder Truck Driver of the Year Award and in 1978 received first place in the South Carolina Truck Rodeo, second place in the National Truck Rodeo and the South Carolina Truck Driver of the Year Award. During his career, Mr. Christian logged over three million miles accident free and received the Lifetime Award for safe driving. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Smith Christian of the home; children, Ricky W. Christian and his wife, Nancy of Anderson, SC; Karen Christian Rodgers and her husband, Jon of Greenville, SC; Terry Ann Christian of Anderson, SC and William R. Christian and his wife, Pamela of Greenville, SC. A special niece, Marie Watt; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Monroe Christian and a sister, Louise Link.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Bobby Smith.
