Azalee LeCroy Culbertson, age 77, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Walhalla, SC on August 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Eddie LeCroy and the late Eva Lewis LeCroy. Azalee served as Postmaster in Fair Play with the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, John W. Culbertson, Jr.; children, Debbie Deaton (Marshall), Ray Anderson , Melinda Atkinson and Carol Greer (Billy); step-children, John W. Culbertson, III, and Beth Douglas (Everett); sisters, Bernice Epps-Hoenshell and Sue Gambrell; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Atkinson; and a step-daughter, Cheryl White. The funeral service will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church on Monday, February 6, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Tony Smith and Rev. Bruce Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Good News Sunday School Class will serve as an honorary escort.
