Joe Seymore, age 75, husband of Ruth Bryant Seymore, of 645 Old Asbury Road, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson, SC on October 23, 1934, Mr. Seymore was the son of the late Early Gibson Seymore and Laura Tucker Seymore. He served in the South Carolina Army National Guard and was the owner and operator of Seymore's Garage for over forty years. He was an avid fisherman and was of the Baptist Faith.In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Terry J. Seymore and his wife, Kim and Barry E. Seymore and his wife, Sandy; daughter, Gail S. Pruitt and her husband, Pat, all of Anderson; brother, Beecher Seymore of Anderson; sisters, Lorene Skelton of Anderson and Corene Murph of Mauldin; five grandchildren, Jamie Seymore and wife, Alexis of Tennessee, Byran Seymore and his wife, Hope, Matt LeBerth, Melody Seymore and Tiffany Dyches, all of Anderson and seven great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by two sisters, Jewel Herring and Helen Fennell.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Olin Baxter. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Flowers are optional.
