Barbara Gaines Anderson, SC Barbara Ann Nelms Gaines, age 61, passed away on May 3, 2015 at Exalted Health and Rehab. Born in Anderson County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Nelms and Grace Melton Nelms. Barbara was a loving wife, and mother and enjoyed antiques. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Gaines, a son, Eric Gaines and his wife Erica, of Anderson, SC, and a daughter, Vanessa S. Carroll, of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Alec Carroll, Griffin Carroll, Chandler Gaines, Alyssa Carroll, and Sydney Speer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers. The Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. The family will be at the home of her son, Eric and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARK Hospice, 101 Grace Drive, Easley, SC 29640.
