Barbara Spake Baker, age 89, of Pendleton, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at home with family by her side.

Born May 8, 1935, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Evander Spake and Ethel Corrine Cobb Spake. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marty Burdette; and brothers, Robert Spake, Dennis Spake, and Frank Spake.

Barbara formerly worked for Pratt-Read and retired from Bi-Lo. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, and working in her yard. She also enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, and classic country music. She attended Covenant Baptist Church. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Victor L. Baker; daughters, Dana Burdette (Shane) and Crystal Phillips (Jerry); stepchildren, Bonita Findley (Mark), Vickie Parsons (Cary), and Belinda Smothermon (Jeff); grandchildren, Zachary Burdette, Travis Findley (Jennifer), Desireé Findley, Cody Parsons, Randi Tinch, Emily Woolson, and JJ Smothermon; and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Dr. Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
