Barbara Ann Duane Black, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born January 27, 1944, in LaFayette, GA, she was a daughter of the late Claude Carl Duane and Gladys Lillian Jordan Duane. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Clifford Moore; son, David Black; and sister, Betty Munn.

Barbara worked in Quality Control with BASF and retired after 34 years of service to the company. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, was a fantastic cook, loved watching red birds and traveling. She loved her family most of all, and the time she spent with her granddaughter filled her heart with pure joy. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Richard "Cale" Black (Marie) of Anderson; daughter, Tonia Michelle Baxter (Bruce) of Anderson; brother, Richard Duane (Anne) of Anderson and Melvin Duane of Winder, GA; and granddaughter, Emily Baxter of Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 1:30-2:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Dr. Steve Silvey officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
