Barbara Katherine Wiles Clinkscales, age 85, of 307 W. Jackson Street, Iva, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the White Oak Manor in Lancaster, SC. Born on July 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. Wiles and the late Ernestine Ozmint Wiles. For fifty-nine years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Ernest Edwin Clinkscales until his death in 2011. Mrs. Clinkscales was a graduate of Iva High School and was employed for forty-three years in the lab at Jackson Mill in Iva. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Survivors include three nephews, Dalton McMullan and his wife, Carolyn, of Belmont, NC, David Clinkscales and his wife, Tamara, of OH, and Gary Clinkscales, also of OH; three nieces, Diane McMullan Austin of Great Falls, SC, Jeanie Keeley and her husband, Jim, of Harrisonburg, VA, and Patti Taulbee of Dayton, OH; and close friends of the family, Randy and Jo Ann Waters of Iva, Mary Beth and James Bruce of Anderson, and Bobby and Lisa Gentry of Iva. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ernest, Mrs. Clinkscales was preceded in death by her step-mother, the late Ada Wiles; and three step-brothers, Lewis, Gerald and Bryant Brown. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Clinkscales will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 3:30 PM at Union Baptist Church in Iva, with Rev. Mike McMillion officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M. at Union Baptist Church.
