Barbara Hicks Harris Starr, SC Barbara Hicks Harris, age 63, of Starr, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at her residence. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of Evelyn Catherine Pinson Hicks and the late E.W. Hicks, Jr. She attended Crescent High School until moving to Aiken, SC and was a graduate of Aiken High School. She was previously employed with Darby Electric. She was a devoted member of the Anderson County Chapter of SC Geneology Society. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Stephenie Harris, of Austin, TX; sisters, Patsy Pierce and her husband Bo, Lynn H. Wright and her husband Ronnie and Cindy Jackson; aunts, Linda Broome and her husband Paul and Nancy Pruitt; and many well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Dewey Edward Harris; a brother, Billy Wilson Hicks; a granddaughter, Jessica Harris; and an aunt, Betty Gilreath. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service on Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
