Barbara Jean Moening Lekorenos, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at The Garden House of Anderson.

Born April 10, 1937, in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late William Koelsch Moening and Elizabeth J. Story Moening. She was married to Theodore George "Ted" Lekorenos until his death in 2020. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James L. Moening.

Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Emmaus High School and received a bachelor's degree in education at Moravian College in 1959. She was a kindergarten teacher in the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania school system for several years. She loved playing canasta with her canasta group at Cobbs Glenn Country Club, growing roses and listening to audio books. Barbara also enjoyed NASCAR and boxing.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lekorenos Craft and her husband Tommy of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Carolyn Girone (Zach) of Pawleys Island, SC, and Anna Craft (Sloan) of Pendleton, SC; brother, William C. Moening (Judith) of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Carolyn Digel of Smethport, PA, Marjorie Hamill (Robert) of Emmaus, PA, Anne Smiley of Portland, TX, and Sue Hamilton (Bobby) of Portland, TX. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Noelle Read and Dr. Michael York officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Lisa and Tommy Craft.
