Barbara Crume Liggins, 85, of Anderson, SC passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Rainey Hospice House. She lived most of her adult life in Zebulon, NC. Born April 23, 1934, in York County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene R. Crume and Janie Elizabeth Griffin Crume. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Irby Liggins and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Liggins Smith. Barbara was a graduate of NC State University. She worked for the News and Observer and Wake County Schools. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie L. Stancil (Jim Davey) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandsons, Matthew and Dalton Smith of Anderson, SC; brother, Mike Crume (Elaine) of Hamlet, NC and special lifelong friends, Jimmy and Alice Harris of Zebulon, NC. Her memorial service will be July 8, 2019 at 1 pm at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Zebulon, NC. Burial to follow.
