Barbara Ann Brady Ross of Belton, SC passed away at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
She was born in Pelzer, SC and was a daughter of the late Leroy Brady and the late Rosanna Heatherly Brady. She was married to the late Joe McBrearty Ross. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Creamer and Alene Ginn. She was a member of Pelzer Presbyterian Church.
She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked for years helping ladies achieve beauty. Barbara never met a stranger. Customers enjoyed the jovial time spent in Barbara's chair. She had a wonderful sense of humor and made all folks happy to be around her. She and her husband Joe loved traveling. She especially loved trips to the mid-west, with Jackson Hole, Wyoming being a favorite and she loved the many hours spent at the beach. She enjoyed keeping her yard beautiful with flowers; azaleas, tulips and any other flower bursting with color. Barbara was precious; with her gracious, always accommodating, loving, and kind personality. She loved her family and her Lord Jesus Christ.
Barbara and Joe shared 57 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, devotion, and family. Although they were never blessed with children or grandchildren of their own, they opened their hearts completely to the many nieces and nephews in their lives, loving and caring for them as if they were their own.
For so many, Barbara and Joe were more than an aunt and uncle; they were a source of comfort, love, and belonging. Their family was not defined by blood alone, but by the countless lives they touched and the love they gave so freely.
Barbara is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Terrie Smith, Tasha Self (Dwight), Todd Creamer (Donna), Tracy Creamer (Nikki) Dendy Lee Ross, and Eric Ross. She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews and several great great-nieces and great great-great nephews.
The family will greet guests on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The McDougald Funeral Home from 12 noon to 1:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Todd Creamer officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Joe in the church cemetery.
